Update from us at Fork Truck Direct – We’re still working for you

We hope that you and your families are safe and well.

During the pandemic, we know that many businesses are struggling and times are tough.
Firstly, we would like to thank all those key and essential workers who are keeping our country running right now by continuing to work in these difficult circumstances and do their best to help everyone at a time when we need it the most. Thank you.

For those working in essential industries such as healthcare, food supply and delivery, the importance of keeping their equipment running safely and optimally has never been greater. This is also coupled with the need to ensure that the government’s guidelines on social distancing are adhered to. We are here to support our customers, old and new, and to make sure you have what you need to keep your business running.

The current situation also means that we’ve seen some of our customers need more help and support, as their workload has increased. Short term hire is a great option at times like these, where demand is high right now but likely to return to normal in the future. We can help by supplying forklifts for short term hire, from as little as a week, to ongoing contracts that can stay in place for the duration of the lockdown. We have plenty of trucks here which are ready to go within 24-48 hours’ notice, so get in touch with our team to discuss this further if need be.

We are also here to help with servicing and maintenance. Whether it is a regular service, a LOLER inspection, or a one-off repair, one of our field service engineers will be able to come to your business and carry out any work needed. We understand that businesses are implementing the government guidelines for safe working and social distancing during the lockdown, and we have also put these in place. We have assessed how our engineers work on site and put measures in place to ensure they can do this, whilst also keeping a safe distance from others.

The BITA and FLTA has issued a joint statement making it clear that regular checks, maintenance and scheduled servicing for forklifts is part of everyone’s health and safety responsibility in our industry. These checks must continue to ensure that we are all continuing to hold ourselves to the highest standards to keep our businesses and our staff safe.

If you have any questions about servicing, or want to arrange any repair or maintenance work, please get in touch and one of our Service Controllers (who are working remotely from home) will talk you through how we can carry out these services at this time.

We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support. We’ve seen so many positive stories of people in our industry helping out to make a real difference during the lockdown and we are so pleased to see how everyone is coming together at this time.
